The applicant proposes o move an existirig dwelling, now on wheels,in Minnea olis
to 2656 North Lexingtn Avenue. Pictures of the proposed structure have beenp
su6mitted and will be available for the Planning Commission and Council to
view at the hearings.
2. The Building Inspector has inspected the structure and notes that:
"An inspection was made of the above described dvell'irg
now presently located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, This dweliing
is approximately 30 to 40 years old and structuraliy conforms to
our building code. This dweliing is compqtible with the existing
adjacent structures. "
3. It would appear from that report that there is no technical reason for not
approving the relocation of the structure. There is a questiQn in our mind,
however, regarding the appropriateness of moving a single family home into
an area that is designated for future multiple development. You will recall
that in the 701 planning study it was suggested that the area in question
(across the street from the Village Hall site) should be developed for multiple
housing units consisting with the existing development now underway to theeast.
It would be appropriate to question the appl icant with respect to his intentions
and his awareness of the future pafential of the property.
