Dear I?ick:
Thanks for your letter of September 8th. The Governi.ng
Body of Roseville and its sta.ff have done a pioneering job in protect-
i.ng the interest of its citizens in the matter of special use permits for
extra-high-voltage transmission. In the process you have also edu-
cated the engineering dspartment of NP for wtnich they will eventua.11y
be appreciative.
We note that NSP agrees to xemove, after 1973, the five
"frame torers" on the angle locatioiis when ". .. operating conciitions
,; and performance of single steel pole double circuit construction to 'give
+ adequa.te assurance of ccrntznuous perfnrmance integrity of such insta.ila-
, tions1°. I would have aded after the ord "single" the phra$e "double
' or three-pole" for the Cornpany could have now agreed to a two-pole
`= structtzre if such had met with the requiremenis of th Village. , We
-k. ,, . will maintain a file on the i.dustry use of steel poles and let you know
a vvhen there is a reasonably clear-cut example that may meet you.r needs.
d
ment and if you have an.y special engineering problems i.n ihe future we
. ,
« ' ' would welcome an opportunity to discuss thern with you. I'+/Ieanwhile, we
