Attached is a letter from the State Highwoy Dei;artment to Mr. Sherman
Goldberg you Puklic Works Director suggestinr that the Villcge consider
a change in the name of that portion af St. Croix Street north of Highway 36
which leads into Terminal Rnad.
2. The new design for• the interchonge of Highway 36, 28p, and 35W directs
north bound traffic from 280 into St. Crox Street os an access to Roseville's
industrial area and so-colled "space cenrer". `h Hi hwa De
9 ) partment is
suggesting thot the road name change that would suggest the fact fihat it is
the entronce to the industrial area would facil tate the H ighway Department
in signing for this exit. An example of such a read name change is "Buck
Hill Road", a ro6d leading from an interchange n 3SN in the Village of
Burnsville. Such a nome change obviously indicats in the case of Buck Hill
that this road is the access to Buck Hill wthout having to sign separately for
that fact.
3• We suggest thah cc,nsiderotion be given to th road name change -th the
entent that it he(p the moprinc pblic relate to the Roseville Industial Center
os suggestcd. There are a variety of solutions that can be considered at the
meeting along with exomples of other such solutions in the metropolitan area.
