OCtOb@;' 16, 1968
To -- Rosevill Village Councii
From--Raymond L. Schrurs
358 P1. trilder
8bseville
Congratulation on Vol. 1, No. 2 isaue of the Roseville Village
Newsletter. A great deal of usBa.ble information was packed
.nto four paes . The map in the center pa;ea wa.s of particular
interesi to me. IJnfortunately n wife and I will be out of
the country when the public hearing on ihe 701 lannin5 Program
is held for the section west of Selling Ave.
then we moved next to a pig farm twelve years ao we were
gullible and believed a real estate agent that assured us the
farm was part of a development thati would eoon be houBes simil.r
to aurs -- withln a year to eig5hteen uionth. The village
Plann'ng map was further proof -- R-1 all the way to County ftoad
C-2.
We ha.ve been goori neihbore to the hog and their keeper$ even
thQuh. our lawn and hrub have been disturbed aeveral times
by both little and bi pie. 4Je have been patint in not
oonatantly badgring th aaillage council and officials to da
eomQthing about Ghe bad. odor of hoaps of rotting garbage and
manure,
Timee have changed, I understand and approve many of the c;ngeg
in zoning which are designed to increase the ta,a base anr,
enable Roseville to become a metropolitan community instead of'
a bedroom suburb.
A enuple years ao, w were adviaed informally by the Tillage
Planner that it was logical for appartmnts o be constructed.
along County oad C-2 aa a buffer btween the industrial land
to the sou,h and the single family residences to th noth.
Those of us in he "forgotten cornEr" of Roeville wre in
hopea that the rove of trees svuth of ohanna Junlor High
Schoo7. woulc be spared and become a park. However, I did not
protest when the large piece of land at ounty Roa C-2 and
Cleveland Ave. wag rezoned industrial and te 1are, beautiful
tres and interegting irregular topography succumbed to the
bulldozer.
Now another erosion of the ainle fail area is proposed. I
will not, protest or fi;ht this plan as published in the iews-
letter if we have firrn assurrnce ther wi 11 not be a"epot
rezoning of the land immediatel,y east and south of us whn it
ia developd .
