At this meeting a further reiort on drainage and street improvement
xs to be pres ented by the Public WriQs Director.
Ae outline in r report dated Auguat 16 1968, the drainage at the coner of
Brenner Avanue and Albert Street ie ca.rri.ad by an open ditch along the north pro-
perty line of th8 Park east to Aaml.ine Avenueo The ultimate autlet for this rater
ie Jo$ephine I,le. Preaently, there are culverts under Ham7.ine and Josephine Ros.d
Khich accept the rater from t11is ewale. Unaer heavy rains the ditch alot Haml3ne
fi11e and this aiQr ri.11 overflow north along Ha.mline and eventually reach Joaephine
Lake traugh Mr. J. Schifskyts property. Ti1is Erale along the north aide of the
Park Will be maintained until such t3me as a storm sexer is constructed i the area.
This can be accoliBhed by rading the street to the east and leaving an opening
n che urb at the scutheas end of the cul-de-sac. At such time as stonn seWer
is co¢atructed it can be located in the souh boulevard area tirith a catch basin
being located in the curb cpenirg aa well as at Brenner and Albert.
It was also preriouely pointed out that the Plat showed a 15 foot dra3nage eae-
ment beeen Iot,e 1 and 2, We recor.nended tbat this easement be maintained. Ttne
question arose from the propertq awners to the north of the Plat whether this
easement was a"neir" easement or a.n exit3ng one. Although our County Plat book
does not shor this easemsnt, it does appear on Mr. Wilmua's abstract. Becauea
it is not lown at this time where the atorm sewer wi31 be located to serve thie
asea= re recoanead that this eaement be retainede In tha evnt, re delste thie
easeaent and then find out we need it for a. future location of #,nrm seer we
will havo to pay for it. As I atated at the 1at meeting the drainage along
Brenner €i.11 continue to flor to the east as it praseutly does.
The diecvssion of the daairbage along Hamline fron 7ydia to Woodlyn waB also dis-
cnBsed. 'n conajancton with the Countyf8 plan for o4erlayi:sg Ha.mline Avenue in
this area, ve have i.r tructed the County ta modifr ths intersections at Clarmar
and Woadlyn eo that these intersections and accoanying ditches along Ham7.ine yi7.l
better handle tie unof.
Oar long range plans indicate that etorm sewers could bs available in this ares
in 19?1 or 1972.
The other qnestion rbich vas di.scussed ras the irovements required fr this PlaL.
We met witi Mr. Wilmn.s and he was ag.reeable t assessing the ertire cost for tYLe
xatermain, sanita.ry setiaer and drainage facilities, Iie has propoo3ed tlat We aplit
the cast for the street imrovemeat equa.11, but it ia onr feeling that it should
b on a front iaot basi Which would be appra.matZy lOp Villags an3 6 `rti7us.
This estion will hae to bs settled by the Coucil.
,
ermaa Zd Galdberg ,
Sept. 6, 1968
F -
, ` S
 il ,
