�J STATEMEt�T OF INTENT !'.EGARDING JOHANNA MIDDLE SCHOOL PROPERTY The Presbyterian Homes of S�innesota {ias been6serThegHome N�esentlyucaresafor °f Roseville-Arden Nills-New Brighton since 195 P about 400 residents on its Lake Johanna site, in a full circle of cara prog�ams -- calied a"continuum" of care. Some live in independent apartment situation�, some in board and lodging, some in nursing care. Another 4Q0 persons are being served through outreach programs by which elder�rams� given supportive services which help them continue living at home. These prog are Adult Day Care, Nome Nealth Nursing Services, Home Helpers (house-keeping services), Home Delivered Meals, Respite (Short Term) Care, on-site services through our Clinic, and therapy programs and activities. As the population af the elderly of ous- �society is increasing rapidly, the needs are also increasing, and we now need more s�ace for our operations. Therefore, the Johanna Middle School is being purchase.d. We require zoning of the property for our use for care programs for the elderly. � The present school builaing will be r�novated for residential living, nursing care and expansion of the outreach service� "� the comheretywithti9l empdoyees tha� approximately 170 elderly peopie wil �e housed t , (133•5 F•T•�•) on the staff, wizh a maximum of j0 staff present at one time. Th� area west of the building will be used f.or expansion of the facility, when needed. T he area to the south of the building will be held in reserve for the fores�eable future, and used as a planned passive recreation area for seniors, wiXh appropriate features such as; horseshoe, shuffl�board, walkways which in- corporate wellness exercises, picnic spots and other components which are compatible with a geriatric care facility. � For the enhancement of Langton Lake and its adjacent habitat of wildiife, we p�opose offering a dedicated setback along the eastern boundry line of about 1.76 �cres (See diagram).
