Rick Salmin - Hom Oak and Leathex Shop <br />Mr. Salmin was in for the second time to present the materials <br />that he had developed in support of his application for a sign <br />variance at his store located on the west side Snelling Avenue <br />and immediately north of the new Welsch Shopping Center. He was <br />in one week earlier and had discussed his concerns about the lack <br />of visibility for their new business in this location. We <br />explained that it was incumbent upon him to prepare the necessary <br />sketches and photographs to demonstrate the nature of this <br />hardship and then to illustrate for the Planning Commission and <br />City Council how the proposed varianGE would solve his concerns. <br />He showed u� a copy of the narrative that he had pra:pared and <br />attached to his application form, but he still did nat have <br />accurate co�ies of the types of photographs and 5}C@tCZ'1�@S that we <br />had rec�mmended hQ have his architect prepare. We reit�rated the <br />importance of being able to show this infarmation to th�e Planning <br />Cammission and Ca.�y Council in a cl�ar Lashion so that th�y can: <br />1� assess whether or not a ha�dship oxists in this case, and 2) <br />to d�termine that the proposed flexibil3�ty th�t wauld bo qrant�d <br />by the variance would so�ve this conc�rn. Mr. Ehrlic� was <br />prepared to a�sw�r that question and show�d a copy oF a lett�r <br />fram his arcl�i�ect to him acknowlmdging a meeting with Howard <br />D�,hlgren and Gordy e�eseth on th� site a�t�r canstruction. <br />Ace4rding to the letter, �toward appraved of the handling �� the <br />rooftop utilities in the mann�r that t�hey wer� constructed. we <br />told them th�t ther� h�d r�cently been a sateilite dish plac�d on <br />�he roof of the bui.ld�ng and �hat the mannor i.n which the dish <br />had been placaei was clear�y not in accordance with the <br />representa�ions that have been rnade by the comp�ny that applied <br />
