MEMORANDIIM
DATE: May 31, 1991
TO: Steve Sarkozy
FROM: Phil Carlson
RE: PLANNING OFFICE HOURS, May 29, 1991
1. John Schulties, Roseville Racquet Club (780-5756)
Mr. Schulties owns the now defunct Roseville Racquet Club building
on County Road D wes of Old Highway 8. He wants to convert it for
use as office space, but is short of parking on site. The site has
a significant grade change and the building is a walkout at the
rear. Part of the solution he proposes would be to convert a
portion of the lower level to enclosed parking. The problem is how
to access it properly. Th building is built quite close to the
side property line which would not allow a 24' wide driveway around
to the back of the building and the lower level, where he wants to
enter the new parking spaces. There is nn other direct access
possible from another side of the site, since it is bounded on all
other sides by other properties. We discussed the possibility of
obtaining access easements from neighbors or revising the lower
parking layout to allcw entry from the side and not the rear of the
building. We agreed that the building layout as he proposes it,
with leased office space only on the first floor and parking and
storage on the lower level, would require about 60 parking spaces.
He will be back when he has a more definitive solution.
2. Tom Stark, Cable TV
The cable television offic buildinq at Victoria and Woodhll has
a parking problem, especially when there is an event at the senior
citizens center across the street. Mr. Stark was looking for
places on site to ald a parking area, but we were able to show that
it might be possible to add the desired parking in the northwest
corner of the site, where there is already existing parking and
extra green area, rather that pave over an undevelaped part of the
site. Not only would this probably be less costly, but it would
put he added parking where it is needed most, adjacent to the
public entrance to the building.
