Planning Office Hour
s
August 27, 1986
•
Page 5
The parking setback along the north of County Road B is
thirty fet, in accordance with a PUD originally proposed and
approved for this ara as indicated in File 1,000, Allied
Stores, Applicant. We suggested infringfng on this thirty
foot setback, which .ncludes the walkway, would be
undesirable.
The proposed use of the building is for thc local office of
Merrill Lynch realtors. We encouraged them to consider ways
in which they coulcl use the bui.ldinc, with expanszon and with
parking rearrangment, Particularly we encouraged the
renovating af th buildin to improve the architectural
appearance of the top.
9. Hahn, 605-339-3850
Georce Hahn was in with Jean Paranto, and Ed Petersen,
architec from Mankato. This proposal is tor a sixt
room motel on a 2.37 acre sie owned by Timpt, now usednfor
truck parking. Our cancern with this site has been lack of
intensiv developmn, though examination of he easements
leave little room for development. The eurrent
indicate expansion af an additional thi.rty rooms, Pwith
ancillary parking.
Jerry Surde is doing the drainaqe and grading plan to compl
with he Rc Creek Watershed and City s needs. This
development is for a"budget" motel known as Heritage Inns.
It i no as intense a use as we might desire, though it will
greatly nhancc the apparanc of this site at the gateuay to
the rdevelopmnt disrrict via Long Lake Road.
10. Weyandt, 936-1274
Jrry weyancit was in to discuss the pcssibility of
devlopinc a single famiiy lot on a portion f the Roselawr
Cemetar land, wst af victoria, near tite northeast carnex
af th cemary popert}. This ara is larcly a wet 1$nd,
ad a portion of ik concivably could b devloped baed on
topographial data and a minimum employmnt of fill. This
idea would tke grEatex xplcrat.on in texms of topocraphy,
oil, and accessibility,
It would appear, howEer, as Mr. Honchell noted, that most
of the aea would have to remain for drinage purposese
