It emits a sould when being usedthatisey
imiliar to tha; of a freight train passiil throuh my back yard. It is so noisy that
I cannot sit in my yard andtalc, nar can T even watcli Z.V. in
windows and daors are closed. Y home unlss all the
;radiianally takes pl.ce btweenntheehours of13e30SandP8r00t as a low rumble. This
p.m. and durxng weEkends.
I derelop headaches whil the ramp is being used and in addition I have two very close
neighbors who have teen, gers who also usehe ramp. They, o' course, are not botherd
bY the noise because tiey know where their children are.
As a Yoneowner and taxpayer, I resent the intrusion on mf privacy. We have looked into
moving and one interesting notation is ;h price of a lovely lot near a railroad track
3n Vadnais Heihts. For puttn up with a five minute rain about three times a day the
lot i priced $20,000.00 cheaper than :he lats lessthan one blck away. I iiv with
this dronirg skateboard ramp noise sometims for t;he entire wekend!!
I know hat aftr.thr complaints a barking dog is removed. Th.s is vastly mor noisy
and inconsidrate. Yct, I am told by thE Zonirig Depar;ment that there is no noise
ordinace to prevent it from happning.
The young owner oi' th raanp resporded to r ciy gnrated letter bydoing , door 1;Q door
survey of who was being botheredby the noie. When I told him I found it x;remely
annoying when it was used for more than t e n m i n u tes per. hour he said I should come and
tell him whenever T found it offensiv E. H a lso said there were things he could do i;o
mtzf'le the noise bui; it would ake time because he would need to earn th mone,y first.
The very next day, Sept. 10, 19$9 he and several friends used th ramp for four conscutive
hours. Hardly what I would call concerned. I will not Ue the neighborhood "police".
I have been advised by he czty to call the pol.ic butthis does not sEem to b a long term
solution to the problem--nor dos muffling the nois. It should be eliminated and
placed in the parks or in an area that does not border homes.
I shared y concern with a Roseville friend who lives in another neighborhood and she stated
the same problem is occuring there. A large backyard ramp i,s bing usd by groups of
young teenagers for long periods of tim. This appears to be more than an isolated problem
unique to me. Please let me know what can be done to ,lleviate this annoying problem.
My patience is eroding fast.
Sincerely, !7
--'`
----,v
,4 f ''' , _ - f
;,-_ , - ,__—! '
- _ ,. ;-- !' C .:,
Kathleen and Waler Kress
290 Matilda
Roseville, Mn. 5113
