Oxford (Mrs. Norma Lee Peick) The city received a anonymous complaint on November 28, 1988 regarding the possible construction of a basement �partment at Z196 N. Oxford. James McFall met with Mrs, Peick on November 25, 1g88 and �iscussed some possible code violatior�s. Jim McFall did not inspect the insi�e but Mrs. Peick indicated that she was just r�placing some basement ceiling tile and installinq a sink in the basement. She indicat�d �hat her dau�hter would be staying with her for an indeterminate time, but that she was not buildin� a self cantained �partment. �n Nav�mber 29, 1988, Jim McFa11 and �rs. Peick met and went �hrough the house because of the neighbors continuing cencern. The room in the basementywhich had been used as a sleeping bedroom area at various times�did not meet the State Building code re�uiremen�ts for sleeping rooms. The other basement area was always �inished off a� a wide open recreation room with full walk out access to the rear yard. A letter was s�nt to Mrs, Peick on December 12, 1988 outlining the city zonin� requirements, and stating th�t an inspection woul� be required before Februa�y 1, 1989 t� insure that all city zoning and building requir�ments have been met. A confirmation lett�r was requested by Gordon Bese�h in a meeting with Mrs. Peick stating that �his hous� was to remain in a completely open manner with communal living for anyone resi�ing in the home. Mrs. P�ick just lost her husband and wants a relative to stay with her for some tim�. The amount of. construction activity and remodel..ing is less than $50a.00 ana will not require a building permit. An inspe�tion as stated before will be done in the future to i�sure code compliance.
