MEMO T0: Craig Waldron
• FROM: Rick Jopke
SUBJECT: Parking at Lexington School
As you're aware, Mary Bakeman has complained about the former
Lexington School site being used for parking by customers of Rose
Galleries and about illegal parking on the street. I sent a
letter to Jerry Kaufhold advising him to advise his customers not
to park on the portion of the site zoned R-3A. I received a call
from Kaufhold today in response to m letter. Kaufhold stated
that he advises people not to park illegally on the street and if
they don't comply, they should be ticketed. He stated that he is
not willing to restrict people from parking on Lexington School
site. He stated that parking has occured on the site for 14
years and that when he purchased the site, the City was aware of
the existing parking and that he was purchasing the site to
relieve his parking problem. He also stated that he will be
moving from the site once he finds a buyer for the school and
finds a new site for the Rose Galleries. He said that he should
be out of the site in a year.
How should we proceed on this matter?
r
U
