The Planning Commission
Village of Roseville
.Zo'seville, Minnesota
Gentlemen:
As the owner of the Hamline Village Shopping Genter, we
signed a petition to rezone certain areas across Hamline Avenue
from the shopping center sit to make them available for multiple
dwell.ing development.
Tt has now come to our attention that a subsequent petition
is being presented to close Terrace Drive and we object to the
. . : vacata.ng oi this street.
The Hamline' Village Shopping Center, unlike most shopping
centers, is dependent upon access from one street and since it has
no streets leading into it from the West, it is imprative that iri
the event of future development to the East, that a street in the
position of Terrac Drive as platted be maintained.
We are also of the opinion that it serves the interest of
orderly development best to avoid a competing commercial area
across from the established center since tllis would create traffic
congestion and unusual pedestrian hazards with the resulting
slowing of vehicular movement.
Yours very tiruly,
May 2, 1961
B A LE REAL E ATE TRUST
B /'
 ' -''`-"-` ' ,
