Most proper ty owr�ers ci� e m a n y o b jec tions to t h e changes. They mention the length of time they have liveci on the s�reet, �he many mailing lists and dacuments on which their address is shown, etc. , etc. But �.� is important f or the private citizen - and the City Council - to realize why the city administration is s:� anxious to el�minate these duplications and� yes, near duplic�ttions. Easil.y qualifying a:� the chief reason is the eff ort to prevent a�ny confusion of address on emergency calls, - ambulance police and f ire, The possible consequences of con- fusion here should be enough to e�.iminate most objections offered by the pr oper ty owners .
