EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />VARIANCE BOARD OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Variance Board of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 9`h day of July 2014, at 5:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Chair Michael Boguszewski; and Board Members <br />Robert Murphy and Shannon Cunningham; <br />and none were absent. <br />Variance Board Member Boguszewski introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />VB RESOLUTION NO. 105 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO §1004.02 (ACCESSORY <br />BUILDINGS) OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE AT 2926 OLD HIGHWAY 8 <br />(PF14-015) <br />WHEREAS, the subject property is legally described as: <br />PI N: OS-29-23-23-0058 <br />That part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 5, Township 29 North, Range 23 West, <br />described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center line of United States Highway No. 8 <br />(formerly known as State Highway No. 63), distant 540 feet Northeasterly measured along <br />said center line of Highway No. 8 from the South line of said Northwest Quarter; thence <br />continuing Northeasterly along said center line a distance of 91 feet; thence Southeasterly <br />at right angles a distance of 290.4 feet; thence Southwesterly at right angles a distance of 91 <br />feet; thence Northwesterly at right angles a distance of 290.4 feet to the point of beginning. <br />Subject to high���ay over the Northwesterly 40 feet thereof. Ramsey County, Minnesota <br />WHEREAS, City Code § 1004.02 would limit the area of detached accessory storage <br />structures to 85% of the footprint of the principal structure, or 693 square feet; and <br />WHEREAS, the owner of the subject property, has requested a VARIANCE <br />to City Code § 1004.02 to allow a proposed detached garage to exceed the area limit; and <br />WHEREAS, City Code § 1009.04 (Variances) establishes the purpose of a vAR�A1vcE is <br />"to permit adjustment to the zoning regulations where there are practical difficulties applying to a <br />parcel of land or building that prevent the property from being used to the extent intended by the <br />zoning;" and <br />WHEREAS, the Variance Board has made the following findings: <br />a. The practical difficulty stems from the fact that the only code-compliant way to build <br />an adequately-sized garage would be to attach it to the home but, since the home was <br />�. , <br />
