EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />VARIANCE BOARD OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a public hearing was held at the regular meeting of the <br />Variance Board of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, on the 3�d day of June, <br />2015, at 5:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Chair Robert Murphy, Vice Chair James Daire, <br />and Commissioner Chuck Gitzen; <br />and none was absent. <br />Variance Board Member Daire introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />VB RESOLUTION NO. 112a <br />A RESOLUTIOIY DEIYYING VARIAIYCES TO §1004.05, §1004.08B, AIYD §1004.08C OF <br />THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE AT 887 PARKER AVEIYUE <br />( PF 15-006) <br />WHEREAS, the subject property is legally described as: <br />PI lY : 14-29-23-21-0032 <br />Lot 4, Block 1, Frankson's Garden Plateau, eYcept the north 228.0 feet thereof, Ramsey <br />County, Minnesota <br />WHEREAS, City Code � 1004.05 limits the projection of a front-facing overhead garage <br />door to 5 feet forward of the principal dwelling; and <br />WHEREAS, City Code � 1004.08B requires 30-foot front yard setbacks for principal <br />structures; and <br />WHEREAS, City Code � 1004.08C limits impervious surfaces to 30% of a residential <br />parcel area; and <br />WHEREAS, John Snell, owner of the subject property, has requested variances to these <br />sections of the City Code to allow a proposed attached garage to expand within the required front <br />yard, to allow the front-facing overhead garage door to expand while projecting more than 5 feet <br />forward of the home, and to allow the garage expansion and a room addition to increase <br />impervious surfaces beyond 30% of the parcel area; and <br />WHEREAS, City Code $1009.04 (Variances) establishes that the purpose of a variance is <br />"to permit adjustment to the zoning regulations where there are practical difficulties applying to a <br />parcel of land or building that prevent the property from being used to the extent intended by the <br />zoning;" and <br />F , . ...:� :�'.,. <br />
