Thanks for your comments, Mr. and Mrs. Polson. We agree that traffic from new development in that location has the greatest potential for adverse impacts, and staff from Roseville and Ramsey County are currently evaluating what those impacts might be. At the same time, it doesn’t make much sense from zoning perspective to require that parcel to remain zoned just for single- family development when it is only a small corner in a much larger area that is zoned for medium-density and high-density development. Perhaps the proposed high-density zoning isn’t the proper fit in that location, but I would be surprised if some sort of rezoning doesn’t occur in the near future simply because the existing zoning is also somewhat unreasonable. Nevertheless, you’re correct that the Planning Commission meeting at which this proposal will be discussed is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.
