Attachment D <br />Attachment B <br />J.Replacement Tree Specifications <br />303 <br />1. <br />The minimum size for Deciduous replacement trees shall be 3-inch caliper, with <br />304 <br />each caliper inch counting towards one (1) diameter breast height inch required for <br />305 <br />replacement. <br />306 <br />2. <br />The minimum height for Coniferous replacement trees shall be six (6) feet with <br />307 <br />credits for each replacement tree being based on the following: <br />308 <br />a.Six (6) DBH replacement inches shall be credited for each coniferous <br />309 <br />replacement tree planted that is eight (8) feet or less in height; <br />310 <br />b.One (1) additional DBH replacement inch shall be credited for every four (4) <br />311 <br />foot increment in height increase over eight (8) feet as illustrated in the <br />312 <br />following table: <br />313 <br />314 <br />3. <br />Replacement trees shall be from balled and burlapped, certified nursery stock as <br />315 <br />defined and controlled by MN Stat. 18.44 through 18.61, the Plant Pest Act, as may <br />316 <br />be amended from time to time. Replacement trees may also be from bare root <br />317 <br />stock, provided the trees are planted no later than May 15th in any year, and the <br />318 <br />planting is inspected by the City Forester or other registered forester or certified <br />319 <br />arborist as assigned by the Community Development Department. <br />320 <br />4. <br />Replacement trees shall be covered by a minimum 2-year guarantee. <br />321 <br />5. <br />When heritage trees are removed, replacement tree options shall be as determined <br />322 <br />by the City Forester or other registered forester or certified arborist as assigned by <br />323 <br />the Community Development Department. <br />324 <br />6. <br />Replacement trees for significant and common trees may be selected by the <br />325 <br />applicant, but all final planting plans shall be subject to review and approval by the <br />326 <br />City Forester or other registered forester or certified arborist as assigned by the <br />327 <br />Community Development Department, who will determine whether the proposed <br />328 <br />trees are suitable to the site, are well placed, and accomplish local diversity goals. <br />329 <br />7. <br />Replacement trees may be utilized to meet landscaping and screening requirements <br />330 <br />if placement, species, and location are consistent with those requirements. <br />331 <br />332 <br />1013 <br />Page of <br /> <br />
