REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: April 25, 2016 <br /> Item No.: 14.c <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Receive Zoning Notification Task Force Report <br /> <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />2 <br />zoning notification process. After City Council approval, the CEC joined with the Planning <br />3 <br />Commission to create a joint task with members of each commission. Working with Community <br />4 <br />Development staff, the task force reviewed existing notification procedures and explored additional <br />5 <br />methods to provide effective communications to the public regarding land use issues. <br />6 <br />The task force met a total of six times to gather information and decide on recommendations for <br />7 <br />notifying the public on zoning and land use items. The final recommendations of the task force are <br />8 <br />the <br />9 <br />RCA as Attachment A. The CEC reviewed and approved this report at its February 11, 2016. The <br />10 <br />Planning Commission also reviewed and approved the report at its April 6, 2016 meeting. <br />11 <br />Members of the task force will be in attendance at the April 25 City Council meeting and present their <br />12 <br />recommendations in greater detail. <br />13 <br />PO <br />OLICY BJECTIVE <br />14 <br />The City of Roseville values community engagement and transparency of its operations and decisions. <br />15 <br />The recommendations of the task force will further this commitment to keeping the public informed of <br />16 <br />issues within the City and provide for additional community engagement for Roseville residents and <br />17 <br />businesses. <br />18 <br />FI <br />INANCIAL MPACTS <br />19 <br />The costs for the additional notification recommended in the task force report will be analyzed by City <br />20 <br />staff and incorporated in the City fee schedule moving forward. <br /> <br />21 <br />SR <br />TAFF ECOMMENDATION <br />22 <br />The City Council should receive the task force report and subject to City Council review, direct staff to <br />23 <br />implement the specific recommendations accordingly. <br />24 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
