REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 04/25/2016 <br /> Item No.: 12.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Public Hearing to Approve/Deny an On-Sale 3.2% Non-Intoxicating Liquor <br />License for HIX Roseville, LLC dba Holiday Inn Express Roseville, a hotel <br />located at 2715 Long Lake Road. <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />Under City Code, a public hearing is required to consider approving liquor licenses for the current <br />2 <br />calendar year. The City has received applications for 2016 Liquor Licenses as follows: <br />3 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />HIX Roseville, LLC dba Holiday Inn Express Roseville On-Sale 3.2% Liquor License <br />5 <br /> <br />6 <br />Neither State Statute nor City Code limits the number of licenses that can be issued for an On-Sale 3.2% <br />7 <br />Liquor Licenses. <br />8 <br /> <br />9 <br />PO <br />OLICY BJECTIVE <br />10 <br />The regulation of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages has been a long-standing practice by the <br />11 <br />State and the City. <br />12 <br />FI <br />INANCIAL MPACTS <br />13 <br />The revenue that is generated from the license fees is used to offset the cost of police compliance checks, <br />14 <br />background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license administration. <br />15 <br />SR <br />TAFF ECOMMENDATION <br />16 <br />The applicant meets all requirements set forth under City Code.
