6.a <br /> <br /> <br />In Recognition <br />Anna Carpenter <br /> <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> The Girl Scouts of the USA has provided young women leadership opportunities <br />for more than 90 years; and <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring volunteerism and <br />the hard work of members of the community; and <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> Anna Carpenter is a member of Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River <br />Valleys Troop 50502; and <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> Anna discovered that the rare auto-immune disease called Myasthenia Gravis <br />(MG) has devastating effects on persons with the disease and their families; and <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> Anna organized a Myasthenia Gravis trade show and blood drive to educate and <br />to spread awareness about the disease; and <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> Anna partnered with the Roseville Figure Skating Club to host the trade show, <br />and they agreed to combine their annual ice skating exhibition with a blood drive every winter <br />season, ensuring the sustainability and continuation of her project; and <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> In recognition of hard work, she has achieved the Girl Scout Gold Award, <br />the highest award in Girl Scouting. <br /> <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved <br />, that the City Council hereby recognizes <br />accomplishments of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award and celebrates her dedication to the <br />betterment of our community. <br /> <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A. <br /> <br />In Witness Whereof <br />, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br />to be affixed this eighteen day of April 2016. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br />Mayor Daniel J.
