REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: April 18, 2016 <br /> Item No.: 15.b <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: 2016 Policy Priority Planning Document Update <br /> <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />On December 7, 2015, the City Council adopted the 2016 Policy Priority Plan (PPP) with two strategic <br />2 <br />priorities, Housing and Economic Development and Infrastructure Sustainability. The City Council <br />3 <br />identified strategic initiatives for each strategic priority along with goals/focus areas for each initiative. <br />4 <br />Below is a listing of the strategic priorities and initiatives. <br />5 <br />This RCA is intended to provide the City Council with an update on the progress and achievement of <br />6 <br />benchmarks identified in the 2016 PPP. Staff has provided information with the RCA regarding the <br />7 <br />status of the 2016 as well supporting documentation. It is not the intent of this update to provide for a <br />8 <br />deep discussion of each and every strategic initiative, but is an opportunity for staff share the progress <br />9 <br />towards meeting the objectives contained in the 2016 PPP and allow the City Council to ask questions <br />10 <br />and provide guidance on the strategic priorities. It should also be noted that the many of the strategic <br />11 <br />initiative items have already or will shortly be on the City Council agenda for further discussion and <br />12 <br />decision making. <br />13 <br />The City Manager and other staff will discuss the status of each initiative at the City Council meeting. <br />14 <br />PO <br /> <br />OLICY BJECTIVE <br />15 <br />Accomplishing strategic priorities will allow the City to deliver services and programs in a planned and <br />16 <br />targeted way. <br />17 <br />FI <br />INANCIAL MPACTS <br />18 <br />As each priority is carried out, there may be implementation costs.
