July 11, 2016 Dear Roseville City Council, My husband and I, along with the rest of the residents on the road, have a strong interest in the road project to best address the stormwater and sediment running into Lake Owasso. I am the fourth generation of my family residing on the lake. Our current home is at the end of the private drive dirt/Class 5 road. Many years ago our home started as a cabin and throughout the years my great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, and myself have watched as new homes and additions evolved replacing and updating old ones. Additionally, we have observed the chemical spraying from both the power line companies and railroad in effort to control overgrown trees and bushes continue annually. All of these chemicals run directly into the lake. The drainage issues have been an ongoing concern along this road for many years. We have large streams of water running down the road and pooling into the large holes in our driveway sitting for several days before making its way into the ground. My father spent countless hours and effort trying to get the road and stormwater issues in agreement with the homeowners and City of Roseville, but to no avail. My husband and I are very excited about the proposal and hoping this project will be approved to move forward this year. While we are not thrilled about the increase in paying high assessments, we are willing to work with what has been proposed in order to best meet the needs of Lake Owasso and all stakeholders enjoying the lake year round. This project will have a positive impact on the lake by treating the tremendous amount of contaminated stormwater flowing down our road, through our yards and into the lake.
