Roseville Finance Commission <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />Memo <br />To: Roseville Finance Commission <br />From: Chris Miller, Finance Director <br />Date: August 10, 2016 <br />Re: Item #6: Consider Developing Recommendations on the 2017 Property Tax Levy & Budget <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br />At the May 10, June 14, and July 12 Finance Commission meetings, the Commission reviewed several <br />information packages detailing historical budget and property tax levy activity as well as projected <br />budgets and levies for the next five years and their subsequent impact on taxpayers. <br /> <br />These packages also included information on the affordability of City services, varying economic <br />indices, and Roseville residents’ preferences on the level of taxation. <br /> <br />The Commission is asked to consider whether there is interest in developing a formal recommendation <br />to the City Council on the 2017 Property Tax Levy & Budget. This recommendation could be forwarded <br />to the City Council in advance of your joint meeting on August 15, 2016. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Not applicable. <br /> <br />Requested Commission Action <br />For review purposes only.
