May 18, 2016 <br />Item 6.B <br />HRC Award <br />After reviewing the nominations, the HRC might consider some means of acknowledging all the <br />nominees as people making positive efforts in our community. <br />Award Winners <br />Winners of the award will be notified by the HRC Chair. <br />At minimum, awardees will be acknowledged at a City Council meeting and presented with a <br />certificate. The HRC will consider additional ways to acknowledge the awardees. <br />Notice of who has won the award will also be given to those who nominated them. Nominators <br />will be invited to the award presentation. <br />Official receipt of the award will be publicized in the local media, community websites and the <br />City of Roseville’s website and other social media. <br />Considerations for Nominee Evaluation <br />Length and degree of contribution and service <br />o <br />Extent to which the contribution may be considered noteworthy.For example: Initiating something <br />o <br />new vs. maintaining an existing effort. A rare vs. commonly pursued cause. Addressing a widely recognized <br />or high import need within our community. <br />What obstacles, if any, did the nominee have to overcome? <br />o <br />Level of altruism <br />o <br />Extent to which the activity was done out of selfless concern for others. <br />o <br />Additional skills or actions to consider.For example: Number of people the nominee engaged in assisting <br />o <br />in this cause. Exceptional creativity or resourcefulness employed by the nominee. <br />It is not essential that anominee was totally successful in their endeavor. <br />o <br />The Nominee Evaluation Committee may consider other factors when determining the <br />awardees. These factors will be shared with the HRC prior to announcing whom they <br />recommend as awardees. <br /> <br />
