, 2016 <br />Item 5. <br />Human Rights Commission Awards <br />Background <br />Human Rights Award Criteria <br />NominatorandNomineeParameters <br />Eligibility is open to profit and nonprofit groups and organizations, public and private individuals, <br />and other groups who are part of or serve the Roseville community. <br />Personal and professional accomplishments relative to human rights are worthy of nomination. <br />One may submit multiple nominations. <br />Anyone may submit a nomination, but a person may not nominate oneself. <br />HRC commissioners and City Council members and their families are not eligible for this award. <br />ApplicationDeadline <br />Nominations will be accepted throughout the year. <br />The application deadline for a given year will be the first Monday of April. <br />NominationForm <br />The nomination form will be available electronically on the HRC website. <br />Those who cannot access the electronic form can request a paper copy from the City of <br />Roseville. <br />Completed applications will be accepted via email or post. <br />If a nominee does not win the award, their application may be resubmitted the following <br />year.The HRC will not automatically reconsider applications. <br />NominationEvaluationandAwardeeDetermination <br />The HRC will strive to determine the awardees within 6 to 8 weeks after the nomination <br />deadline. <br />Three HRC commissioners will serve on the Nominee Review Committee (NRC).They will read <br />all nominations, cooperate to make the required calls to nominee references and agree upon <br />which nominees to recommend to the HRC as awardees. <br />ons. <br />The HRC hopes to give 3-4 awards in the initial year of this program.The number and quality of <br />the applications received will determine the final number of awardees. <br />After reviewing the nominations, the HRC might consider some means of acknowledging all the <br />nominees as people making positive efforts in our community. <br /> <br />
