Member Etten opined it would be ss-more onerous to them to leave
their site; and even though the city held business events once/year at various
city locations (e.g. hotels), it only reachecl a .relatively small number of
businesses. Member Etten noted the ned to rnake this as convenient as
possible, opining that was probably through a site visit;, providing another tool
in the continued interest by the city' in lceeping them successful in the
community, and from the city's prspective, retaining its broad tax base.
Member Willmus agreed
fortunately now very div
degradation was seen in:on
was good to understand no
many of whom were also'`.
Member Willmus stated it
city with Z1maintined i:
with the 'need, for stabilizing the `city's tax base,
erse, and make, sure'' nothing was missed e-if
e area of that tax base. By creating a win-win for all,
a stab'rlized enironment for a successful
ure, a strong, residential and business base,
im personally; to open the door to see the
iese business owners.
Merriber Laliberte noted the , City Council had already spoken with the
Community F,ngagement Commission on exploring the open house concept,
and further noted the city had already expressed an interest in having residents
and businesses share in that opporhinity. During her time serving on the City
Council, as well a:her active.membership in the Stiate Chamber of Commerce,
Meniber Laliberte noted she had heard stories at different events from
businesses — includirig some in Roseville — who had outgrown their space, but
were lookirg elsewhere than Roseville and therefore taking obs out of
Roseville. Therefore, Member Laliberte opined it was important to get a pulse
check and deterniine cominent themes (e.g. transit issues) from businesses and
to address those challenges.
Ayes: McGehee, Willmus, Roe, Laliberte, and Etten
Nays: None.
Motion carried.
Receive Location One Demonstration
