Development Coordinator/GIS Specialist half from the EDA and half from the Community
82
Development Fund as the Community Development Department would still require a significant level
83
of GIS support.
84
85
Option 2, Consultant Support and Realignment of Staff, is as follows:
86
87
Community Development Director(paid from CD Fund)
On-Call Consultant
88
89
90
Housing & Ec. Dev. Program ManagerEc.Dev.Program Coordinator/GIS Specialist(.5 EDA/.5 CD Fund)
91
92
93
Economic Development Intern(s)
94
95
$224,500
The total cost for this staffing structure is:
96
97
98
Option 3 –Economic Development Manager Led
99
Staffing Option 3 is a staff-heavy approach creating a Housing & Economic Division with an Economic
100
Development Manager at the helm. The Economic Development Manager would supervisea ¾ Housing
101
and Economic Development ProgramManager(dollars repurposed from former HRA Executive
102
Director position),as well as theEconomic Development Coordinator/GIS Specialist. All economic
103
development activities would be funneled through the Economic Development(ED) Manager, and the
104
ED Manager would be responsible for managing the materials sent to the REDA.The ED Manager
105
would be responsible for all retention, recruitment, acquisition, and marketing efforts forthe City and
106
would be responsible for targeting all 2017 priorities identified in June (Attachment C), including the
107
initiatives that were categorized as being outside current staff capacity. It should be noted that in
108
addition to wages and benefits for this new role, the total cost reflects various administrative charges
109
that accompany professional staff (e.g. conferences, phone, etc.)There would also be an initial cost to
110
accommodate office space for a new position. The Community Development Department is currently at
111
capacity with space, with staff presently sharingcube space under the existing staffing structure. This
112
option does not set aside funds for consultants.
113
114
Option 3,Economic Development Manager Led, is as follows
:
115
116
Community Development Director(Paid from CD Fund)
117
118
Economic Development Manager
119
120
121
¾ Housing & Economic Dev.
