REQUEST FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTAUTHORITY ACTION <br />Date:8/29/2016 <br />Item No.:8.e <br />Department ApprovalExecutive DirectorApproval <br />Item Description: Receive LocationOne Presentation <br />1 <br />BACKGROUND <br />2 <br />Thanks to a Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development partnership, the <br />3 <br />City of Roseville now has free access to a web-based service called the LocationOneInformation <br />4 <br />System (LOIS). LOISis the leading online economic development site selection tool, withusers in <br />5 <br />more than 30 states and over 13,000 communities representing nearly 4,000 economic development <br />6 <br />organizations. <br />7 <br />8 <br />The LOIS map viewer can be embedded directly into the City’s website and provides users with <br />9 <br />search tools and easy access to demographic reports about the surrounding area. Redevelopment <br />10 <br />sites or specific buildings can be highlighted with images and display all the key details, such as <br />11 <br />zoning, size, utilities, highway access, available incentives, and more.
