Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />August 17, 2016 –Draft Minutes <br />Page 3of3 <br />Youth Commissioner Report <br />a.Discussion of Article on Invisible Disabilities <br />Youth Commissioner Hansel stated there was an error in the article on page 2of the Roseville <br />Review and this has been corrected. The correction will be published in the next newspaper. <br />Staff Report <br />a.Calendar of Events <br />i.Votes for Women Film Fest, Thursday August 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Roseville <br />Library <br />ii.Ramsey County Library sponsored conversation, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. <br />facilitated by Sun Yung Shin, editor of A Good Time for Truth: Race in <br />Minnesota, a collection of essays that provide a range of perspectives on what <br />it is like to live as a person of color in Minnesota <br />Ms. Curti reviewed the upcoming events at the Ramsey County Library. <br />Future Agenda Items <br />Chair Groff statedthe next agenda would include an update on the mental health forum. <br />Ms. Curti stated the next meeting was scheduled for September 21. The Commission will also <br />meet with the City Council in October. The Advocates for Human Rights will present their report <br />to the City Council on Monday from the Lake McCarron’s/Karen community meetings. <br />Commissioner Johnson stated the timing for the lights on Larpenteur have been changed and the <br />seniors trying to cross the intersection now feel it is safer for them to cross. <br />Adjournment <br />Commissioner Eichenlaub moved and Commissioner Careyseconded a motion to adjourn. <br />Motion passed unanimously.
