Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br /> Transportation Commission <br /> Agenda Item <br /> Date: September 27, 2016 Item No: 5 <br /> Item Description: Water Supply Plan Discussion <br /> Background: <br /> The City of Roseville is required by State Statute to update our water supply plan every 10 years. <br /> This requirement applies to every public water supplier serving more than 1,000 people. <br /> According to the statute this plan must address projected demands, adequacy of the water supply <br /> system and planned improvements, existing and future water sources, natural resource impacts or <br /> limitations, emergency preparedness,water conservation, supply and demand reduction <br /> measures, and allocation priorities. The City of Roseville's water supply plan is due December <br /> 31, 2016. Even though the City of Roseville buys water from Saint Paul Regional Water <br /> Services,the City is still required to have a water supply plan because Roseville is the agency <br /> administering the utility billing <br /> As of January 1, 2015 new statutory requirements have gone into effect that require water <br /> suppliers to include demand reduction measures in their water supply plans. The main discussion <br /> at this meeting will involve various water conservation approaches and programs. Attached in <br /> this packet are a number of different education and programs currently in place by other <br /> communities in the Metro. <br /> Recommended Action: <br /> Receive presentation and discuss various water conservation options. <br /> Attachments: <br /> A.
