Roseville Finance Commission <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />Memo <br />To: Roseville Finance Commission <br />From: Chris Miller, Finance Director <br />Date: September 13, 2016 <br />Re: Item #6: Review August Joint Meeting with the City Council <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br />On August 15, 2016 the Finance Commission held a joint meeting with the City Council for the purposes <br />of reviewing the Commission’s activities during the past year, to receive any Commission guidance or <br />recommendations, and to discuss the Commission’s discussion topics moving forward. <br /> <br />The Commission is asked to review the topics of discussion that were held and any work direction the <br />Council may have provided. From my notes, I recorded the following general work direction provided <br />by the Council: <br /> <br />Future Work Direction <br /> <br /> Continue providing budgetary review at a broad, strategic level including regular reviews of: <br />a) Available cash reserves <br />b) Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) <br />c) City Manager Recommended Budget & Tax Levy <br /> Review format and content of the Budget Comment Card and accompanying article in the <br />July/August City Newsletter and recommend modifications <br /> Review the City’s Investment Policy & Performance <br /> Consider Revising City Code Chapter 208: Finance Commission roles and responsibilities <br /> <br />Commission Members are encouraged to share their individual thoughts and perspectives as well. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Not applicable. <br /> <br />Requested Commission Action <br />For review purposes only.
