2 <br />40 <br />Cedarholm41 <br />o Updates were provided from the advisory group. The City Council asked42 <br />that they ensure ample public input opportunities during the advisory43 <br />process.44 <br />o August 16th will be the next public meeting with a presentation by the45 <br />advisory team and time for public input.46 <br />Commissioner Becker-Finn questioned the use of renewal funds for potential upcoming 47 <br />sidewalk projects. 48 <br />Brokke explained that $2 million of the renewal program was identified for additional 49 <br />sidewalks and pathways to connect the park system and other amenities. Currently, there 50 <br />are $600,000 dollars remaining for this use. This money will go to complete some 51 <br />smaller previously identified pathways in the community. 52 <br />Commissioner Becker-Finn stated she was not questioning the validity of the projects. 53 <br />Rather, she feels it would have been beneficial for the Parks and Recreation Commission 54 <br />to discuss and recommend the location of potential sidewalks with the City Council 55 <br />during the joint meeting. 56 <br />Brokke confirmed that all locations were previously identified as part of the renewal 57 <br />program. 58 <br />Acting Chair Gelbach suggested that sidewalks and pathways should be included as a 59 <br />discussion item next time the Parks and Recreation Commission meets with the City 60 <br />Council in a Joint meeting. 61 <br />Commissioner Diedrick questioned how the Parks and Recreation Commission will be 62 <br />looking at asset management going forward. Brokke stated that Parks and Recreation 63 <br />staff would provide additional details on life cycles and asset management at subsequent 64 <br />meetings. 65 <br />66 <br />5.CEDARHOLM GOLF COURSE REPLACEMENT UPDATE67 <br />Acting Chair Gelbach confirmed 21 residents, 5 staff members and 2 Parks and68 <br />Recreation Commissioners are on the committee. August 11th is the next meeting and69 <br />August 16th will be a public presentation.70 <br />Anfang confirmed that the committee previously met on 6 occasions. The committee has71 <br />chosen to add an additional meeting on August 11th. This meeting will be used to clarify72 <br />and wrap up the Final Report.73
