I of course am referring to Council member
McGehee.
Unfortunately, because of my current illness and upon the advice of my doctor I have not been able to
take advantage of prior opportunities to respond to the coordinated and organized smear campaign
against my character and the civic work I have been involved with for over ten years now. Until
tonight.
I am here tonight to respond to some of the accusations and charges made against me because I do
not agree with Council member McGehee or Neighborhood Association Chair Sherry Sanders. I do not
want my silence so far to be misinterpreted as consent.
Unfortunately, since there are so many untruths abounding and my time tonight is limited, I will have
to confine my remarks to three current charges.
First, several Council meetings back member McGehee bitterly accused me of falsely speaking for her
neighborhood, Mid Oaks Lane, a neighborhood I also live in and have for 19 years. I believe that every
time I have spoken to this Council I have clarified who I was speaking for, and I have never said that I
speak for all residents in SW Roseville or any component of same.
When I have spoken for a group of Residents other than my family, I have carefully prefaced my
remarks by indicating that I was speaking for the SouthWest Area of Roseville Neighborhoods
(SWARN), and not for every resident in SW Roseville.
• Unlike the leadership of the Lake McCarron's Neighborhood Association, I do not include in my
remarks those who have not actually enrolled in SWARN. It's easy, dissembling, and inaccurate
to say you speak for all residents simply because you drew a pencil line around their
neighborhoods.
In conclusion, Council members McGehee's earlier remarks, that I falsely claimed to be speaking for
her neighborhood, has no substance and may be simply a way to discredit me and the neighborhood
association SWARN.
1
