What had happened in the meantime? Council member McGehee spoke publicly at a council meeting
that SWARN didn't exist; when contradicted by the Mayor she persisted in this line of attack. Hilden
consequently read the order and changed her tune before the Task Force.
More recently, the Human Rights Commission awarded Sherry Sanders the 2016 Human Rights
Award, along with an official at the Roseville High School. In her nominating recommendation to the
HRC Council member McGehee mentioned three times that Sanders had stood up to bullying in
Roseville, proof positive that she was a human rights activist.
Sanders has done some very good and exceptional things for her community, but I would not place
Sanders in the forefront of Human Rights workers. The right to a trial, the right to face your accusers,
and the ingrained American principal that one is innocent until found guilty are also civil and human
rights, a set of rights seemingly forgotten by her and Council member McGee.
So I would request the Council wait until Sherri's and my trail which is now scheduled to occur in mid-
December. The process of canonization and condemnation can wait until then.
Gary Grefenberg
Roseville Resident
3
