Mr. Paschke suggested staff return with this next month along with Mr. Buss’
517
recommended language for consideration by the Commission and in an effort to achieve
518
consistency, suggesting possible other amendments addressing vehicle servicing that
519
staff is running into in other situations. While agreeing that Mr. Buss brought up some
520
good points about consistency, Mr. Paschke cautioned that the public hearing notice for
521
this item as addressed in the staff report was different than the action being requested for
522
revision by Mr. Buss, and should receive sufficient notice for the public to provide their
523
input on all aspects of proposed amendments.
524
Member Gitzen noted his confusion in language (line 73) for “…storage between \[a\]
525
principle building versus \[the\] principle building, with Mr. Paschke suggesting other code
526
applications related to outdoor storage would need further review for consistency.
527
Member Gitzen opined there should be one principle building on a lot.
528
Chair Boguszewski agreed that should be reviewed when there were multiple buildings
529
with the same use, allowing for the same restrictions to apply to all.
530
MOTION
531
Member Bull moved, seconded by Member Cunningham to TABLE this requested
532
action seeking amendment to Table 1006-1 and 1009-02, adding motor freight
533
terminals as a CONDITIONAL USE in Industrial Districts as detailed in the staff
534
report dated October 5, 2016, to the November 2, 2016 Planning Commission
535
meeting, for further consideration at that time and prior to closing the public
536
hearing on this matter.
537
Ayes: 4
538
Nays: 1 (Murphy)
539
Abstentions: 1 (Boguszewski)
540
Motion carried.
541
6. Adjourn
542
Member Kimble recognized two U of MN Planning Class students in tonight’s audience; with
543
Chair Boguszewski welcoming them on behalf of the Planning Commission, inviting them to
544
return as discussions on the Comprehensive Plan Update move forward in the near future.
545
Member Murphy moved, seconded by Member Bull adjournment of the meeting at 8:14 p.m.
546
Ayes: 6
547
Nays: 0
548
Motion carried.
549
