January 18, 2017 <br />Item 5.B <br />Update on Mental Health Forum <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The commission is hosting a class on depression in older adults. An expert from the National <br />Alliance on Mental Illness will speak on Thursday, January 19 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the <br />Lexington Park Building, 2131 Lexington Ave. <br /> <br />The event has been promoted in the city newsletter, through social media and traditional media, <br />and through posters and personal invitations. <br /> <br />At the November meeting the commission approved a $150 stipend for the speaker and up to $75 <br />for refreshments. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Following the program, the commission will determine whether to host additional mental health <br />forums on anxiety and addiction. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Attachment A: Flyer <br /> <br />
