<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1287 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10, SECTIONS 1004.01 THROUGH 1004.09, <br />PERTAINING TO RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS <br /> <br />THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Purpose. The Roseville City Code, Title 10, Sections 1004.01 through 1004.09, <br />are hereby amended by clarifying and revising language and adding land use and required dimensions <br />charts. The purpose of this ordinance is to use updated terminology in this section of the code, reduce <br />repetition, and include charts for easier reference. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Section 1004.011 is hereby amended by moving the following language <br />(definitions) to the Definitions Section 1002.02. <br /> <br />GARAGE SALE: A sale of used household and personal items conducted on residential <br />premises, where the property sold consists of items owned by the occupant of the premises at <br />which the sale takes place, or by friends of such occupant and where the sale is conducted by <br />such occupant or friends, and not by an agent or any other person to whom a commission, fee or <br />salary is paid. Items for sale shall not have been purchased for resale or received on consignment <br />for the purpose of resale. Except during the sales day and one day before and after for setup, <br />items for sale shall be stored within the garage, screened from view with opaque fencing or <br />screening or stored in the residence. No permit is required for a sale which meets the criteria of <br />this Section. A property owner may apply for a garage sale promotion permit in which the <br />applicant requests the City Council to vary or approve additional conditions beyond those stated <br />in this Code. <br /> <br />RESIDENTIAL BOUTIQUE SALE: The sale of handcrafted items conducted on residential <br />premises, where the items sold are made by the occupant of the premises at which the sale takes <br />place, or by friends of such occupant, and where the sale is conducted by said occupant or friends <br />of such occupant and not by an agent or any other person to whom a commission, fee or salary is <br />paid. Items for sale shall be made in the home and not purchased for resale from any retail or <br />wholesale business source nor received on consignment for the purpose of resale. Section 1004.01 is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />1004.01: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS IN ALL RESIDENCE DISTRICTS: <br /> <br />The following minimum requirements shall apply to all buildings that may be erected, converted or <br />structurally altered in residence districts: (Ord. 275, 5-12-1959) <br /> <br />A. Accessory Buildings In Residential Districts: <br />I. Number Allowed: Each residentially zoned or used parcel shall be allowed up to two (2) detached <br />accessory buildings and one garden shed, based upon certain maximum limitations identified in this <br />section. <br />2. Garden Shed: The size of the allowed garden shed shall be limited to a maximum area of one <br />hundred twenty (120) square feet, a maximum height of twelve feet (12'). The one allowable garden <br />shed shall not be considered an accessory building. <br /> <br />1 <br />
