9. Backgrou»d Praject Erperience / lnvolvement with Similar Prajecfs
HCM Archdtects has exkensive experience with Programming, Facility Assessments, Master
Planning and Designing Park & Recreation Facilities. Since 1999, HCM Archi#ects has designed
aver 94 park & recreation facflities for with Dakata County, Ramsey Coun#y, Anoka Caunty,
Washington County, St. Paul Division af Parks and Recreaticn, Minneapolis Parks and Recreation,
the Minnesota DNR, Fass Swim Schaols, Three River Park District, church camps and with the
cities of Shakapee, Roseville, Wac>dbury, plymauth, Arden Hilis, Blaine, Shoreview, West St. Paul,
Caon Rapids, as weli as White Bear Township.
it is inherent in our practice #a design a building or family of buildings tha# are derived from a strong
foundation of understanding of the site and its history. This starts with working with the
stakehaldrs to develop the collective memcries that give a si#e its uniqueness that are the
qualities that se# it apart fram any other place.
These are the opportunities of a buflding and site than can nat be overfooked,
We alsa believe that each building should have the least amaunt of impact to the environment as
possible. We have found that a design approach based n lifecycle costing and °cradle to grave"
analysis will not oNy direct the project in #he "`green" direction, but will also help the team af
Owners and architects design a structure that will provide a superior environment while actually
reducing the overall impact the prnject will have on that same environment.
The follawing projects are examples af similar building types and scales.
