April 19, 2017 <br />Item 6.I <br />ConsiderMental Health Programming <br />Background <br />In January the commission hosteda class on depression in older adults, taught by aspeakerfrom <br />the National Alliance on Mental Illness(NAMI).The speaker only does one talk per year in a city <br />because of her limited time availability. <br />At the March meeting the commission discussed manyideas forspeakersand topicsbut did not <br />reach any conclusions about programing. <br />Action Requested <br />Establish a subcommittee to identify mental health related topics that the commission may want to <br />pursue. <br /> <br />
