February 15, 2017 <br />Item 5.B <br />Update on Mental Health Forum <br />Background <br />In January the commission hosteda class on depression in older adults, taughtby anspeakerfrom <br />the National Alliance on Mental Illness(NAMI). <br />The event has been promoted in the city newsletter, through social media and traditional media, <br />and through posters and personal invitations.About 10 people attended the presentation. <br />Discussion <br />NAMI has speakers who can speak on a variety of mental health topics. The commission may <br />considerhostingadditional mental health forums. <br /> <br />
