She stated they have expressed interest in a <br />140 <br />community garden. City Staff and Tim O’Brian are looking into locations for a community <br />141 <br />garden. The Police Foundation may sponsor a soccer league for underserved communities as <br />142 <br />well. <br />143 <br />144 <br />Commissioner Carey asked if there was a public forum planned. She stated the Library would be <br />145 <br />interested in becoming involved with the Karen Interagency Work Group. <br />146 <br />147 <br />Ms. Collins stated there are several sub-groups that are working on different projects and they <br />148 <br />would be meeting as a larger group less often to allow these smaller groups to work on their <br />149 <br />projects. She would let the Commission know when the next meeting is held. She suggested the <br />150 <br />Library contact KOM directly if they would like to work with them regarding specific <br />151 <br />programming. <br />152 <br />153 <br />Chair Groff stated Commissioner Bachhuber had suggested a field trip for members of the KOM <br />154 <br />to visit the Library. <br />155 <br />156 <br />f.Rosefest Parade Update <br />157 <br />158 <br />Chair Groff stated there is a spot reserved in the parade and they have a trailer. They are in need <br />159 <br />of a vehicle to pull the trailer in the parade. <br />160 <br />161 <br />Commissioner Becker suggested contacting the local car dealerships to see if they would <br />162 <br />volunteer a vehicle for the event. <br />163 <br />164 <br />Commissioner Singleton stated he would contact a couple of people. <br />165 <br />166 <br />Ms. Collins stated she would need the dimensions of the trailer and the vehicle for the parade <br />167 <br />coordinator. <br />168 <br />169 <br />170 <br />New Business <br />171 <br />172 <br />a.Review of Mental Health Forum <br />173 <br />174 <br />Commissioner Slade provided an update of the Mental Health Forum. She stated this is <br />175 <br />something that could be on going and if it is NAMI could tailor to what the Community needs. <br />176 <br />177 <br />Chair Groff stated the forum was exceptional and there was good information available. He had <br />178 <br />not been aware of all the resources available and it was good to provide this to the community. <br />179 <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated the participants had all been engaged. <br />180 <br /> <br />
