Content will include forest health news and information. <br />MNDNR Urban & Community Forestry Unit is planning an EAB field tour of St. Paul for the Division <br />Management Team to talk about impacts of EAB, management options, need for providing assistance to <br />communities. Happening on May 16. <br />BIOLOGICALCONTROL <br />TheMDAisoutlookingfornewpotentialreleasesitesbasedonnewEABfindsoverthelastyearaswellas <br />naturalspreadintonewareasthatmaymeettherequirementsforreleases.Onenewlocationhasbeen <br />identifiedatHartleyParkinDuluth.ThiswillbethefirstreleasesitestartedinDuluthsinceEABwasfoundinthe <br />city.OtherpotentialreleaselocationsarebeingevaluatedinBloomington,Hastings,LakeCity&Wabasha.Five <br />releasesitesthatwereinitiatedlastyearwillcontinuetohavereleasesthissummer.ThoseincludeMiss.River <br />Park(MPLS),BattleCreekPark(STP),FishPointPark(PriorLake),WhitewaterWMA(Elba)andCğƩƒĻƩ͸ƭ <br />CommunityPark(Lewiston).Thethreeparasitoidwaspspeciesbeingreleasedare{ƦğƷŷźǒƭŭğƌźƓğĻ(larval <br />parasitoid),ĻƷƩğƭƷźĭŷǒƭƦƌğƓźƦĻƓƓźƭź(larvalparasitoid)and hƚĬźǒƭğŭƩźƌź(eggparasitoid).Parasitoidreleaseswill <br />begininMayandcontinuethroughSeptember. <br />Yellowpantrappingwillbeperformedagainthissummertodocumentparasitoidestablishmentattwonew <br />sites.30yellowpantrapswillbeplacedateachsiteandcheckedatleastonceaweekfromJunetoSeptember. <br />Sampleswillbefrozenandstoreduntilfallwhentheycanbesortedandanypotentialparasitoidsidentified. <br /> <br />
