REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 5/8/2017 <br />Item No.: <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Authorize Planning and Design Servicesfor 2132 ClevelandAvenue <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />In the Roseville Parks and Recreation System Master Plan it was identified that there is a lack of Parks <br />2 <br />and Recreation Opportunities serving Southwest Roseville. As part,the Roseville Parks and Recreation <br />3 <br />Renewal Program monies were allocatedto actively pursue improvements to this area. <br />4 <br />5 <br />In 2016, the City purchased a parcel located at 2132 Cleveland Avenue (SE corner of County Road B <br />6 <br />and Cleveland Avenue) that is approximately .79 acres. <br />7 <br />8 <br />The City hasrelatively recently went through a rigourous selection process for consultants for the <br />9 <br />Master Plan Update and Renewal Programandit was felt that it would be beneficial to seek a proposal <br />10 <br />fromRenewal Consultants LHB. Specifically LHB was the lead consultant on the Master Plan update <br />11 <br />and was involved in those community discussions about SW Roseville. They understand how it all fits <br />12 <br />and the community processes utilized and expected. <br />13 <br />14 <br />Included in your packet is a Standard Agreement for Professional Services for a cost not to exceed <br />15 <br />$28,500, plus $400.00 for reimbursables for a total of $28,900 and a Planning Proposal from LHB. <br />16 <br />17 <br />The outlined process is similar to past community involvement efforts and would, in the end; result in a <br />18 <br />Master Plan for the park. <br />19 <br />PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />20 <br />The process for involving community members to review, discuss and recommend improvements toCity <br />21 <br />facilities isconsistent with the City's effortsfor community engagement and input. <br />22 <br />FI <br />INANCIAL MPACTS <br />23 <br />The total cost of this recommended design portion of this project as outlined is $28,900. The cost would <br />24 <br />be paid for out of Parks and Recreation Renewal Program Monies. <br />25 <br />26 <br />The next step after completing this design portion, depending on outcome of community process, will be the <br />27 <br />actual construction plans and specifications to develop.
