103commission discussed reviewing the Master Plan’s Goals and Policies to ensure they are still relevant – <br />prior to updating them in the Comprehensive Plan. <br />104 <br />105 <br />CONSIDER POLLINATOR FRIENDLY CITY RESOLUTION PROPOSAL <br />1065. <br />107Chair Gelbachpresented the updated Pollinator Friendly City resolution. One line was added to the <br />108resolution that addressed the suggestion from the April 4, 2017 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting <br />109to include a list of pollinator friendly plants. The Commission agreed to present the updated resolution atthe <br />110next joint Parks and Recreation Commission/City Councilmeeting. <br />111 <br />CEDARHOLM COMMUNITY BUILD REPLACEMENT UPDATE <br />1126. <br />113Staff provided an overview of the Community Building process and presented the renderings that were <br />reviewedat the April 24, 2017 City Council Meeting. All options have roofs that are approximately 20 ft. <br />114 <br />115high. The difference between rendering #2A and #2B is the arbor vs. hard roof. <br />116 <br />117The guidance of the City Council at the April 24, 2017 meeting was that they preferred option #2B. Staff <br />118will provide an update on the Cedarholm Community Building to the City Council on June 5, 2017. <br />119 <br />120The Commission discussed that the building looks very nice and will be a destination location for the <br />121Community. Commissioner Stoner relayed that he believes the architect did a good job of following the <br />122Advisory Team Report by creating a building that does not look like a park building - but does fit into the <br />123park system. <br />124 <br />DISCUSS AND PREPARE FOR JOINT MEETING WITH CITY COUNCIL <br />1257. <br />126Brokke provided a template of possible topics to discuss at the joint meeting with the City Council on <br />127Monday, June 19, 2017. <br />128 <br />129Vice-Chair O’Brien suggested the addition of the Deer Reduction Program to the “Work plan items for the <br />130upcoming year” section. <br />131 <br />132Commissioner Bole questioned what it would take to get an annual reductioneffort. Brokke suggested that <br />133would be a good topic to discuss at the joint meeting with the City Council. <br />134 <br />135The Commission discussed roles and items to include when meeting with the City Council.Specifically, <br />136they agreed to focus on Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), the Pollinator Friendly Resolution, and Roseville’s Deer <br />137Reduction Program as “upcoming 2017 topics”. <br />138 <br />139Commissioner Hoag asked if finances should be included as part of the Cedarholm Community Building <br />140update.
