EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br /> Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 28th day of August, 2017, at <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: McGehee, Laliberte, Etten, and Roe and the following <br /> members were absent: Willmus. <br /> Council member Etten introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 11435 <br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING POLICE DEPARTMENT POLICY#102 REGARDING <br /> IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the Roseville City Council hereby adopts as city policy the Police <br /> Department policy 9102 as it pertains to immigration enforcement presented by the City <br /> Manager this evening, and amended by the City Council, as follows: <br /> Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) <br /> Federal law does not authorize the Roseville Police Department to enforce federal <br /> immigration laws. As such, employees shall not inquire about a person's immigration <br /> status unless it is directly related to a criminal investigation. <br /> Members of the department are authorized to assist ICE when it is related to scene <br /> safety and/or the safety of ICE employees as they perform their duties. Members of the <br /> department are authorized to cooperate with a task force involving ICE agents as long <br /> as the focus of the task force is not immigration enforcement. <br /> Member of the department will cooperate with ICE as specifically mandated by federal <br /> and state laws. <br /> and; <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any change to Police Department policy #102 as it <br /> pertains to immigration enforcement must be approved by City Council. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Roe and <br /> upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof. Laliberte, Etten, and Roe <br /> and the following abstained: McGehee. <br />
