COMPREHENSIVE PLAN – PARKS AND RECREATION SYSTEM MASTER
895.
PLAN REVIEW AND UPDATE
90
91Review of Goal 1 was completed at the June 6, 2017 Parks and Recreation Commission
92Meeting.
93
Goal 2 Review
94
95Commissioner Warzecha asked for clarification on Goal 2.4. Specifically, what times the
96parks are open. Staff confirmed that the parks in Roseville are open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
97daily (except Reservoir Woods, which is open from dawn to dusk).
98
99The Commission suggests no changes to Goal 2.
100
Goal 3 Review
101
102Staff suggested adding potential language to Goal 3 that would provide consideration for the
103City to purchase land that becomes available, when adjacent to existing parks.
104
105The Commission discussed how best to identify potential adjacent land.
106
107The Commission recommended potentially adding a note in Section 3 to possibly prioritize
108the purchase of properties adjacent to current parkland.
109
Goal 4
110
111Chair Gelbach questioned the roles of Public Works and Parks and Recreation in the Trails,
112Pathways and Community Connections. Staff confirmed that it is a joint effort between
113Public Works and Parks and Recreation.
114
115The Commission suggested defining roles of Public Works and Parks and Recreation as it
116applies to the Trails, Pathways and Community Connections to reduce confusion.
117
FOLLOW-UP TO CITY COUNCIL JOINT MEETING
1186.
119Commissioner Stoner suggested that this topic be listed again on the September 5, 2017
120Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Agenda as three Commissioners were not able to
121attend the meeting tonight, and they may like to comment.
122
123The Commission discussed the signing of Resolution No. 11422 – A Resolution Declaring
124the City of Roseville as a Pollinator-Friendly Community.
125
126Commissioner Warzecha suggested adding directions on how to make your own bee habitats
127to the City of Roseville Pollinator Page.
128
129Commissioner Stoner suggested adding that there is no restriction in code on beehive size.
130
131 Commissioner Bole stated that all of the presenters did a very good job at the Joint Meeting.
132
133
134
