Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />DRAFT - August 15,2017 DRAFT <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Nicole Dailey, Etienne Djevi, John Eichenlaub, Wayne Groff, <br />Chelsea Holub, Michelle Manke, and Lauren Peterson <br />Youth Commissioners: <br />Elizabeth Hansel <br />Commissioners Absent:Lisa Carey <br />Staff Present: <br />Rebecca Olson, Assistant City Manager <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br />TheHuman Rights, Inclusion, and Engagement Commission (HRIE) meeting was called to order <br />at 6:32 p.m.Ms. Olson called the roll. <br />Public Comment on Items Not on the Agenda <br />There was no public comment. <br />Consensus Workshop Discussion <br />Ms. Olson gave an overview of the format for the discussion. She stated that tonights goal was <br />to have a good discussion and come up with broad topics that serve as the foundation for the next <br />Action Planning workshop. Ms. Olson outlined the process for the workshop beginning with the <br />Context, Brainstorming, Cluster, Name and Resolve. <br />Ms. Olson clarified that the rational aim of the workshop was to have a work plan to present to <br />the City Council that is balanced, reasonable, and achievable, and meets the objectives to <br />Evaluate, Advise and Engage. She then explained that the experiential aim of the workshop was <br />to give commissioners an opportunity to work together to develop shared goals they can all <br />support. <br />With these aims in mind, and based on feedback from previous meetings, the question that the <br />commissioners will be tasked with answering is: What issues or topics should the Human <br />Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission focus on for the remainder of 2017 and 2018? <br />Commissioners then shared their thoughts from the previous meeting where this facilitated <br />process was discussed and their expectations for tonights meeting. Ms. Olson walked through <br />the assumptions for how to honor everyones participation for the evening and indicated that <br /> <br />
