Mr. Schroeder admitted that there was no <br /> more room on the current campus for laboratory space. <br /> Councilmember Etten, in referencing the Planning Commission discussion, noted <br /> that the school had identified several other options if this request was denied, in- <br /> cluding on-campus renovations. <br /> Mr. Schroeder agreed that there were other possibilities, and depending on the <br /> City Council's discussion tonight, would inform the school's Board of Trustees at <br /> their meeting scheduled for later this week as to their next steps and potential op- <br /> tions. <br /> Specific to the transportation question, Councilmember Laliberte asked if the <br /> school anticipated using the Circulator Bus method for students with staff driving <br /> and parking on site. <br /> Mr. Schroeder responded affirmatively, referencing the school's past experience <br /> when renting facilities in Arden Hills, they envisioned control to dissuade stu- <br /> dents from driving, requiring them to ride the bus and control it through use of <br /> parking stickers, especially during peak times in the best interest of all parties. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Written comments dated September 25, 2017, in support of this PUD amendment <br /> request, was received from Dan Stoltz, CEO/President of SPIRE Credit Union — <br /> Roseville, University of Northwestern Board of Trustees Chair and an Alumnus of <br /> the College, and Presbyterian Homes Board Member. <br /> Mayor Roe reviewed public comment protocol, and advised the audience and po- <br /> tential speakers that the City Council was in receipt of the official minutes and <br /> public comments from the official public hearing held at the Planning Commis- <br /> sion level, with that information included as part of the record for this request. <br /> However, Mayor Roe noted that at this time the City Council would provide this <br /> opportunity for additional comments on this request. <br /> Mark Hamman, 2800 Cleveland Avenue N; Co-Owner of Pediatric Home <br /> Service <br /> Written comments also provided via a letter dated September 6, 2017. <br /> Mr. Hamman briefly reviewed his business model and the massive nationwide <br /> nursing shortage impacting the medical service industry; speaking in support of <br /> the requested PUD amendment to further the school's nursing and biomedical <br /> programs. <br /> Gene Gjerdingen, 2553 Fisk <br /> Written comments also provided via email dated August 11, 2017. <br />
