City of Roseville <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1534 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SELECTED TEXT OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE, <br /> TITLE 9, CHAPTER 908, TO REGULATE RENTAL LICENSING FOR <br /> MULTIFAMILY RENTAL DWELLINGS OF 5 OR MORE UNITS <br /> THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1. Purpose: The Roseville City Code is hereby amended to modify/clarify specific <br /> requirements within the Roseville City Code, Title 9, Chapter 908, to Regulate Rental Licensing for <br /> Multifamily Rental Dwellings of 5 or More Units. <br /> SECTION 2. Sections 908.01, 908.029 908.03, 908.049 908.06, 908.07, 908.08, 908.09, and <br /> 908.12 is hereby amended as follows: <br /> CHAPTER 908 TO REGULATE RENTAL LICENSING FOR MULTIFAMILY <br /> RENTAL DWELLINGS OF 5 OR MORE UNITS <br /> 908.01: PURPOSE <br /> It is the purpose of this Chapter to assure that Multifamily Rental Dwellings (MRDs) with 5 or more <br /> units in Roseville are decent, safe, sanitary, and well maintained. The implementation of an MRD <br /> licensing program is a mechanism to ensure that rental housing will not become a nuisance to the <br /> neighborhood; will not foster blight and deterioration; and/or will not create a disincentive to <br /> reinvestment in the community. The operation of an MRD is a business enterprise that entails <br /> responsibilities. Operators are responsible to assure that residents and children may pursue the normal <br /> activities of life in surroundings that meet the following criteria: safe, secure, and sanitary; free from <br /> crimes and criminal activity, noises, nuisances, or annoyances; and free from unreasonable fears about <br /> safety of persons and security of property. <br /> 908.02: DEFINITIONS <br /> For the purpose of this Chapter, the following terms shall be defined as set forth below. <br /> A Codes Coordinator-- The designated B ,;ld g nf ^ al for-the Cites of Roseville or-his <br /> A. B-. City: Shall mean the City of Roseville. <br /> B. C City Council: Shall mean the City Council of the City of Roseville. <br /> C. D-. City-Approved Inspector's Report or Inspection Report: Shall mean a rental dwelling <br /> inspection report prepared and signed by a City Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector, feata >,^ ~ <br /> inspeeter or inspector contracted by the City to conduct an inspection and provide a report to the <br /> City. <br /> E.
